The lever support and the weight coupling are based on the principle of strain-controlled elastic hinges (GTM patent). This has distinctive advantages compared to air bearings and foil strips:

Maintenance-free, without wear, unlimited life expectancy
The force shunt int othe frame is continuously measured and controlled to be zero
