The force standard machine with deadweight stack and lever amplification is used for the
calibration of force transfer standards and reference force transducers, and for
research and testing of load cells. Deadweight machines of this type are the
most cost-effective solution to cover wide ranges of the force scale with high
precision. This type of mass stack offers the possibility of an exceptionally large
measuring range whilst in wear-free strain-controlled elastic hinges (GTM
patent) allows continuous monitoring of the bearing quality, which is not possible
with knife edges.
