Patent awarded to force vector sensors

The force vector sensors allow a force to be defined according to all its determining quantities (i.e. value, angle and space coordinates). The force can be defined to a high precision thanks to the use of bending ring transfer standards the main force direction and decoupled transducers for the secondary components. The force vector sensors thus close the gap in traceability between high-precision dead load primary units and multi-component reference units, yet can also be used for the alignment of material testing machines. The European Patent Office has now granted GTM the patent for this innovative product.
