GTM certifies the “Perfect Breakfast Egg”: Metrology for Gourmets

We’ve expanded our calibration portfolio and are now bringing measurement technology to the breakfast table.
In close collaboration with top chefs and metrology experts, GTM has developed the “Standard Spoon Strike” (SSS) – a new reference value for determining the optimal eggshell breaking force.
The goal: the perfect opening of a soft-boiled egg – the shell should crack cleanly, while the yolk remains perfectly intact.
“Our force transducers measure the exact impulse force required to open a Grade A egg without damaging the yolk,” explains Marcel Richter, Managing Director at GTM.
“This way, we deliver precision not only in measurement technology – but also at breakfast.”
From now on, GTM offers corresponding calibration certificates for kitchens, gastronomy, and ambitious breakfast laboratories.
