GTM mourns the loss of former managing director Horst Mischke
Mr. Mischke joined GTM in 2000 as commercial director. In 2007, he took over as managing director and had a significant influence on the company for many years. After 18 years of dedicated service, he initially retired, but returned in 2019 as an external consultant to support GTM with his many years of experience.
Under his leadership, GTM continued to develop independently and sustainably from 2007 onwards under the umbrella of its parent company ZwickRoell. His entrepreneurial thinking, his foresight, and his deep understanding of commercial matters have had a decisive influence on our company.
Horst Mischke was also passionately committed to measurement technology beyond the boundaries of the company. At his retirement party, Dr. Joachim Ullrich, President of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), praised his many years of commitment to the Helmholtz Fund for the Promotion of Metrological Progress and Young Scientists.
Daniel Schwind, Head of Metrology at GTM, recalls their collaboration: "
Mr. Mischke very quickly understood GTM's volatile business model and recognized the opportunities it presented. He organized the commercial processes with such foresight that even rough seas or calm waters could not throw us off course. He was always prepared and a reliable helmsman."
We thank Horst Mischke for his deep commitment, his leadership, and his tireless contribution to the development of GTM. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family and loved ones.
The funeral service will be held in the presence of his closest family.
