The new In-Line Amplifier (ILA) is particularly suitable for decentralized, highly dynamic and automated test bench measurement data acquisition systems or demanding industrial automation applications with EtherCAT^® interface. The ILA, equipped with IP67 protection, was developed for use close to strain gauge-based transducers, which allows decentralized measurement data acquisition directly in the field. The advantages of decentralized use: the necessary sensor measuring lines are significantly shortened and the metrological performance is thus significantly improved. The fact that the system topology is set up decentrally and exclusively via industrial RJ45 cables thanks to the Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) function has a positive effect on costs. Furthermore, a large number of ILAs can be easily and conveniently connected via an integrated switch by means of daisy chaining - especially with a higher number of channels, this also significantly reduces system costs.

The best of both worlds: best performance, lowest costs
The ILA is installed easily and within a few minutes via "Plug & Process", both on the sensor side via commercially available M12 connectors and on the system side via robust RJ45 connectors. This is a great advantage for the user because the entire measuring chain comes from a single source: from the force transducer and the necessary connection cables to the EtherCAT^® interface. For demanding multi-channel applications, the genuine distributed clocks feature (DC) with 1µs is integrated - particularly important for synchronous further processing of the high-precision and dynamic measurement data acquisition. Ideal areas of application are test benches for materials testing, component, and structural testing, as well as demanding industrial quality and process control, both for new equipment and for retrofitting existing systems.

The new smart decentralized GTM-ILA enables users to completely rethink their test benches and machines, as it combines the worlds of DIN rail strain gauge measurement amplifiers and classic data acquisition systems (DAQs): it offers outstanding metrological performance with a measurement rate of 40 kS/s, a bandwidth of 2 kHz and the accuracy class of 0.01 - and all this with high adaptability of the number of channels and without additional gateways for connection to the automation system
