Area of application

This data protection declaration explains the nature and the scope of how our website www.gtm-gmbh.com collects and uses your personal data. The responsible parties within the terms of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) are the legal representatives of GTM Testing and Metrology GmbH (see legal notice).

Data transmission/data logging

When you visit this site, the web server automatically records log files that cannot be matched to a specific person. This data contain e.g. the browser type and version, the operating system used, the referrer URL (the site previously visited), the IP address of the querying computer, the access data and time of the server query and the client’s file query (file name and URL). This data is only collected for the purposes of statistical evaluation and helps us to make operation of the website more secure and to optimise our offering. This information is not made available to third parties for commercial or non-commercial purposes.

Cookies

When you visit this site, cookies (small text files) are saved on your computer by Typo3 (this page’s content management system). Your browser uses these cookies, which increases the user friendliness and security of our website. These cookies, however, are only used to record the current session and not to collect your personal data for tracking or similar purposes.

Use of personal data

Your personal data is only collected or processed if you give us these details voluntarily, e.g. as part of a query via the contact form, when you evaluate our calibration service or when you subscribe to our info e-mail or newsletter. If there are no pressing reasons not to do so in conjunction with a business transaction, you can rescind the approval of your personal data being stored in writing (e.g. via e-mail or fax) and with immediate effect. Your data is not passed to third parties unless doing so is required by legal provisions.

The security of your data

The personal data you provide us with is secured using technical and organisational security measures that ensure it is inaccessible to unauthorised third parties. If you need to send us very sensitive data or information, it is recommended that you use the postal service as the complete data security of e-mail cannot be guaranteed.

Info e-mail/newsletter

When you sign up to receive our info e-mail or newsletter, the personal data you give us will be used exclusively for this purpose. In signing up for the info e-mail/newsletter and entering your data on our website, you will automatically receive a confirmation e-mail that we use to check the validity of the e-mail address you give us. You also need to confirm that you have received the confirmation e-mail. This is used to validate the validity of the e-mail address. Your data is treated confidentially and is not passed to third parties. You can rescind your permission to have your personal data stored and used for sending the info e-mail or newsletter at any time. Every info e-mail or newsletter contains a link to this effect.  

Google Maps

We use Google Maps to provide location-based services on our website. We make use of the Google Maps service in order to help you find our branches and locations. To this end, we load a Google Maps image containing our location. Google Maps may thus be able to obtain information about your identity and may store it on external Google Maps servers in the U.S. or other countries. Videos by Vimeo

In order to be able to show content in a simple and comprehensible way, our website uses embedded videos that are provided by an external host (Vimeo). When you start a video, a Vimeo server must be called up for technical reasons. Vimeo may thus be able to obtain information about your identity and may store it on external Vimeo servers in the U.S. or other countries. GOOGLE ANALYTICS

This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Contract data processing

We have entered into an agreement with Google for contract data processing and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

IP Anonymization

We use the “Activation of IP Anonymization” function on this website. This way, your IP address will be truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other member countries that are party to the agreement throughout the European economic area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the United States and truncated there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity, and providing the website operator with further services connected to the use of the website and the Internet. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with any other data held by Google.
